CHINO HILLS – A 20-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed only feet from his Chino Hills home authorities said. At around 6:23 P.M. on Tuesday evening, Tommy Gutierrez parked his vehicle on Canon Lane and walked south to cross Carbon Canyon Road to return home.
As Gutierrez crossed, 50-year-old Chino Hills resident, Natalie Javid was driving a 1998 Lexus sedan westbound on Carbon Canyon near Canon Lane. The front of the Lexus struck Gutierrez in the westbound lane just west of Canon Lane. Javid stopped her vehicle and the family of Gutierrez rushed to the man to render aid.
Gutierrez was transported by ground ambulance to Chino Valley Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
