Man on PRCS Assaults 12-year-old Girl During Attempted Carjacking
GRAND TERRACE, Calif. – A Colton man was arrested for an attempted carjacking and an assault on a 12-year-old girl on Monday.
At around 7:20 a.m. the victim’s father parked his vehicle at the Bank of America, located at 22365 Barton Road in the City of Grand Terrace. He got out of the vehicle and walked up to the ATM machine. The girl remained inside the vehicle with the car running. James Porter, 28, entered the vehicle and assaulted the girl as he yelled at her to get out of the vehicle. The girl sustained significant injuries to her face as a result of the assault. Her father noticed and ran toward the vehicle, Porter got out of the vehicle and fled the location.
Deputies responded to the location and took a report. At around 10:30 a.m. the suspect was located trespassing on their property close to the Bank of America. Porter was determined to be out on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for an unrelated attempted vehicle theft.
