APPLE VALLEY – Apple Valley Unified School District officials made a statement regarding an incident that caused Phoenix Academy to go on a brief lockdown Thursday morning.
Deputies responded to a “man with gun” call at around 7:50 a.m. on Thursday morning near the school which is located at 20700 Thunderbird Roar in the Town of Apple Valley. When they arrived they learned that the gun was a BB gun. “We appreciate our community reporting what they saw to keep our students safe,” school officials said in a news release. “Apple Valley Unified School District continues to encourage “If you see something, say something.”
