NEWBERRY SPRINGS, Ca. – Newberry Springs residents are outraged by the thought of a dangerous sexually violent predator possibly being released in their community.
Lawtis Rowden, 72, is a serial child rapist, who has victimized numerous girls in San Bernardino, Orange, and Los Angeles Counties, and in the State of Tennessee. Although, Rowden has no connection with San Bernardino County, Liberty HealthCare Corporation is proposing his placement within the county, Members of the community are urged to share they insight about why Lawtis Rowden should not be placed at 47998 Lake Irene Drive in Newberry Springs.
A community meeting regarding his placement will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at 30884 Newberry Springs Road in Newberry Springs. Residents are encouraged to share this information with other area residents and to attend the meeting in order to voice their concerns. Those unable to attend can send in the Opposition to Placement letter.
