PHELAN – Excitement is mounting as Thanksgiving quickly approaches and as Victor Valley residents anticipate hours of cooking followed by a family meal, then the beginning of the Christmas season. As everyone writes their Christmas lists and gears up for Black Friday sales, the Rothwell family of Phelan prepares for a yearly tradition.
The Mistletoe Light Show is beautiful and elaborate 2-acre holiday display that is open to the public free of charge. Those entering can enter by foot, vehicle, or choose to ride on a small train for only $1 per person. Although, there is no charge to enter, the Rothwell family will accept donations with the funds collected going to Breast Cancer Awareness, Childhood Cancer, Leukemia, and SMA (Spinal muscular atrophy).
Delight will fill the eyes of both young and older visitors as they view multiple themed light displays with thousands of colorful lights. As the end of the light show approaches, don’t forget to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus who are there Friday and Saturday evenings.
Opening day is Thanksgiving night and the hours of operation are Sunday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (weather permitting). Santa will also take time out of his busy schedule on Fridays and Saturdays starting December. The Mistletoe Light Show is located at 2478 Sierra Road in the City of Phelan.
