MORENO VALLEY – A small boy’s heroic actions possibly saved the life of his mother and newborn sibling in early October. The 7-year-old boy was home with his pregnant mother when she began suffering from multiple seizures. The boy called 911 to report the incident. Moreno Valley Police and Cal-Fire personnel responded to the home to find the woman suffering from a life-threatening emergency. The woman was rushed to the hospital and hospital staff was forced to deliver the baby two months early.

The mother remained in a coma for several days, but recovered and was released from the hospital only a week later and the baby was released from the hospital at the end of November. On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, the family received a tour of the police and fire stations. They were also able to meet with those who responded to the 911 call.“If it were not for the brave and educated actions of this 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically,” Moreno Valley Police officials said. “We think he is very special and reminds us all of the importance of children knowing how to dial 9-1-1!”
