JURUPA VALLEY – A 29-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested after being caught inside a home that he was burglarizing officials said.
On Saturday, April 28, 2018, at around 3:18 p.m. deputies from the Jurupa Valley station responded to a frantic call reporting that an unknown male suspect broke into her home in the 4200 block of Friesian Lane in the City of Jurupa Valley. The woman reported that the suspect was armed with a knife, and entered here home through the back glass door after throwing a patio chair through it. The woman who was inside her home with her two minor children grabbed them and ran out of the house. As she ran from her home, then occupied by the suspect, she noticed and an unknown vehicle in her driveway.
Deputies arrived with the Sheriff’s K-9 who helped to apprehend the suspect, later identified as Demetrius Horn. Authorities believe that the suspect may have stolen the unknown vehicle in the driveway of the home earlier that day and parked it in the driveway. Through investigation, deputies noticed a room in the home was ransacked and items were placed in a backpack. This led them to determine that the suspect had entered the home with the intent to commit a theft/robbery.
Horn was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Robbery, Residential Burglary and Vehicle Theft. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact Deputy Lara #4667 from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2600.
