DEVORE – A 39-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested for stabbing a male victim multiple times after a church altercation on Wednesday afternoon. At around 4:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to 2500 block of Glen Helen Parkway in Devore for the report of a stabbing.

When deputies arrived a short time later they made contact with the victim, who had multiple stab wounds to his back and head. Asiasiga Teloma, 39, of Moreno Valley was identified as the suspect. It was learned that Teloma and the victim were at a church gathering when Teloma had a verbal altercation with a child. The victim attempted to intervene, and a physical altercation ensued. Both were separated by family members and Teloma left the location.

Teloma returned and confronted the victim again, this time stabbing him several times. He got back into the vehicle and fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance from the church. He was taken into custody without further incident.
