PALM DESERT – Two women were arrested for prostitution after an investigation into numerous reports of “suspicious circumstances” was reported to the Palm Desert Police Department. At around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016, the Business District Team (BDT) officers from the Palm Desert station responded to the location in the 45000 block of Lupine lane in the City of Palm Desert.
Through investigation, detectives were able to locate evidence of prostitution at the location. BDT and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET) obtained and served a search warrant on the property. Two female suspects later identified as 63-year-old Yan Zhang and 33-year-old Mei Qin were arrested and booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for prostitution and other undisclosed municipal code violations.
