PALMDALE – A woman and her boyfriend, both of Palmdale were sentenced to life in prison for killing her 23-month-old son three years ago officials said.
On August 21, 2014, approximately 3 months after Brandon Jerel Williams, 27, moved in with Rosie Lee Wilson, 23, the victim Anthony Wilson was beaten to where he went into and remained in a vegetative state until he died at the hospital in October.
“According to the evidence presented at trial, Williams would frequently hit and scream at the victim,” Los Angeles District Attorney Officials said. “Weeks prior to the fatal beating, the child’s mother left the toddler with Williams and when Wilson returned, she found the victim limping with several injuries.” Still, after knowing that Williams had abused the child Wilson left the child in his care. She returned to find the child with massive bruising all over his body, including his head and groin area, but she did not seek medical treatment.
Witnesses testified that Wilson tried to conceal the toddler’s injuries with makeup and baby powder. Williams was found guilty in May of first-degree murder and was sentenced to 25-year-to-life in prison, while Wilson was found guilty of second-degree murder and child abuse and was sentenced to 15-years-to-life in prison.
