PHELAN – One man died as a result of a crash on Palmdale Road east of Amarillo Street near Phelan on Sunday evening.
At around 5:53 p.m. the driver of a 2011 Nissan Rogue, was driving westbound on Palmdale Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle veered into the opposing traffic lane causing it to collide head-on with a Volvo tractor-trailer.
The California Highway Patrol and emergency medical personnel responded to the report of a traffic collision with extrication. When they arrived they found a major damage traffic collision with the male driver of the Nissan deceased. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured as a result of the collision.
The collision remains under investigation. The name of the deceased man has not been released.
