In California “livestock,” which includes horses, have the right of way on roads and highways. (Horses are not considered “livestock” when horse owners buy feed, which is taxed because horses are NOT livestock, they are a luxury item or a pet like dogs or cats). I am always appalled when drivers say, “If you’re riding a horse and can’t control it as I drive by, and you fall off, that’s not my problem.” I never fail to correct them. In THIS instance, the driver of the truck used his vehicle as a weapon.–it is assault with a deadly weapon and in CA is a felony. (CA Penal Code 245(a)(1).

You contradict yourself saying they are livestock then saying they are. When I feed my chickens, goats, and cows hay and feed it doesn’t make them a “luxury item”. Also, ranchers can get tax exemptions for their feed.

  • Why don’t comments STAY on point about the subject?! driver of the truck is an ASShole! NEEDS to be FOUND and PROSECUTED 🙁 :p
