TEMECULA – Early Thursday morning Temecula Police responded to the report of an attempted carjacking near the Park and Ride location at 40820 Winchester Road in the City of Temecula. The victim told authorities that he was in his vehicle waiting for his vanpool to arrive when three suspects attempted to carjack him.
Responding police believe based on the information provided that the suspects arrived in a vehicle which was reported stolen in San Diego County on Wednesday night. One of the suspects got out of the vehicle and brandished a firearm while demanding the victim’s vehicle. Struggling to prevent the theft and fearing for his safety, the victim accelerated the vehicle causing him to crash into and damage the suspect vehicle.
One of the suspects inside of the suspect vehicle fired two shots from his weapon striking the victim’s vehicle. The suspects, who left the location in a Silver Dodge Neon with damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle.
