FONTANA – Officers from the Fontana Station responded to the MetroLink station located at 16777 Orange Avenue for a call reporting an upset bus passenger.
A sergeant and corporal arrived at the scene and made contact with the 70-year-old male passenger, named Mark Browder. When speaking with Browder, they learned that he had just been released from Kaiser Hospital after receiving medical care for an undisclosed medical condition. He planned to take the bus to his Fontana home, but accidentally put a $100 bill in the payment machine. He told the bus driver about the mistake, but the bus driver was unable to provide a refund to him. The sergeant and corporal helped Browder get a voucher and they provided him with a ride to his home.
When they got to his home, they noticed that his yard had become overgrown due to his medical condition. Wanting to take one less stress off of Browder, the two got to work, mowing his lawn and cleaning up his yard so that he will not have to worry about his yard for a while.
