RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Detectives from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department are seeking information regarding an attempted kidnapping on Thursday.
On Thursday, September 13, 2018, at around 5:24 p.m., a 9-year-old girl reported that she was picking flowers in the greenbelt area of Tanglewood Court and Bear Creek Avenue when a suspect dressed in all black who was wearing a ski mask took her by the wrist, leading toward the community pool. Somehow, during the attempted kidnapping, the girl said that he became startled and let go of her to flee the area.
The girl ran to a neighbor’s home and they called 911. A thorough search of the area, which included the sheriff’s helicopter was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The investigation is ongoing.
