APPLE VALLEY, Calif. – A woman who is well-known in the Victor Valley area was arrested for allegedly attempting to shoot her boyfriend during an argument.
Breada Leach, 49, of Apple Valley, who serves as the board of the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous other non-profit organizations was arrested on Tuesday, at 3:00 a.m. Authorities said that they responded to Leach’s home, located in the 19000 block of Symeron Road. Her 55-year-old boyfriend told deputies that he and Leach were involved in a verbal altercation over finances.
Leach became very upset, striking him several times. The victim left the home on foot, leaving his vehicle at the home. He said that Leach went back into her home and came out with a handgun. Leach who, according to the school’s website, is the President of ABC Christian Academy, stormed into her home, grabbed a handgun, and went outside with the handgun. She pointed it at the victim firing a single shot and missing him. She went into the victim’s vehicle and began looking for him as he hid in shrubs while walking to the fire department, where he said that he waited for deputies to arrive.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A search warrant was served on Leach’s home where a weapon believed to be used during the crime was located. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Information has been updated, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department updated information that was origionally provided to us. The previous information said that Leach was arrested and booked into jail, but she was not; her case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review.
