VICTORVILLE – The suspect who assaulted another woman in a Victorville Walmart parking lot was located and arrested. On May 6, 2018, at around 2:15 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the Walmart located at 11896 Amargosa Road to the report of an assault. When they arrived they learned that the driver of a silver Chevrolet accused the female victim of hitting her vehicle with a shopping cart. The passenger of the Chevrolet got out of the vehicle, punched the victim in the face and sprayed her with an unknown chemical before returning to the vehicle. The vehicle then left the area.
Witnesses were able to get a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, the suspect, the driver of the vehicle the suspect was with, and the license plate of the vehicle. Through investigation and the assistance of the public, the suspect was identified as Jessica Richardson Brown, 32, of Victorville. On Thursday, May 10, 2018, deputies made contact with the suspect at her home in the 16900 block of Nisqualli Road in the City of Victorville. “While trying to detain the suspect, she became combative, damaging the deputy’s duty equipment and trying to avoid being handcuffed,” Victorville Sheriff’s Department Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said. “Deputies were able to gain control of the suspect and she was placed under arrest.”
The suspect was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a caustic chemical, vandalism, and resisting an executive officer. She is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday, May 14, 2018.
