EL DORADO, ARKANSAS – A 29-year-old Rialto man is in a Union County Arkansas jail after being sentenced this week to 140 months in a federal prison for drug trafficking, FBI officials said. McGeilberry was sentenced on Wednesday following his February 25, 2015, Federal Grand Jury indictment and his guilty plea on December 1, 2015.
During an investigation that began in September 2014, Mario McGeilberry was identified as a multi-kilogram methamphetamine supplier for the Camden and other Western District Arkansas areas. Mail records compiled during the investigation revealed that numerous shipments were made from the San Bernardino, California area being sent to the Western District Arkansas to known narcotics distributors.
McGeilberry was arrested by Arkansas state troopers in Lake Village, Arkansas on February 11, 2015. He was found to have around 5 ounces of methamphetamine and a half-pound of marijuana in his possession. Authorities said that McGeilberry disclosed that the methamphetamine was to be delivered to the Western District of Arkansas. He also said that he also traffics the methamphetamine through the mail and he was responsible for around 7 pounds had been shipped to the area.
The substance believed to be methamphetamine, was tested in an Arkansas State Crime lab and was determined to be over 50 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine.
Following his jail sentence, Mario McGeilberry will also have 4 years of supervised release for the one count of Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances with the Intent to Distribute.
“The success of this investigation is a tribute to strong partnerships which demonstrates our combined impact on targeting and dismantling drug trafficking organizations that peddle dangerous drugs to our neighborhoods,” said Special Agent in Charge Diane Upchurch of the FBI Little Rock Field Office. “We appreciate the efforts of the 13th Judicial Drug Task Force and the United States Attorney’s Office.”
