RIALTO – A Rialto middle school teacher was arrested for continuous sexual abuse of two girls, ages 10 and 8-years-old.
Jose Isabel MartinezThe initial report of sexual abuse was made on Monday, October 1, 2018, to the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station. Both victims identified the suspect as Jose Isabel Martinez, 48, of Yucaipa, a sixth-grade teacher at Frisbie Middle School in the City of Rialto. The victims were not students of Martinez’, but did know him prior to the alleged abuse.
The Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Children Detail assumed the investigation and learned that the girls were sexually assaulted multiple times over a few years. On Tuesday, January 8, 2018, Martinez was arrested in the 34900 block of Avenue B in the City of Yucaipa for Continuous sexual abuse to a minor and Lewd and Lascivious Acts with Child Under 14. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $700,000 bail.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are releasing Martinez’ booking photograph.
