RIVERSIDE – A 57-year-old Riverside man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after swinging a knife at employees at a Riverside business on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 5:48 p.m. officers responded to the business located in the 9700 block of Magnolia Avenue. Witnesses said that the suspect entered the business, got into an argument with the employees and brandished a knife, swinging it at them. The suspect then fled the business after an employee sprayed him with pepper spray. The employees then locked themselves inside until officers arrived.
With the help of a K9 Officer and his partner “Finn” the suspect identified as Christopher Chieco, was detained without incident. Chieco was treated for pepper spray exposure and was arrested and booked into jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
