GRAND TERRACE – A Riverside teen and two adults from Los Angeles and Gardena were arrested for attempted burglary and evading arrest.
Authorities said that Thursday, March 30, 2017, at around 7:10 a.m. deputies from the Central station responded to the 22000 block of Kentfieldo Street in Grand Terrace for the report of a burglary in progress. The reporting party told dispatchers that two male suspects were attempting to break into her home. Deputies responded just as Bernard Peoples, 19, of Gardena and Darion Green, 24, of Los Angeles were fleeing the home and into a vehicle. Inside the vehicle was a 16-year-old female driver, who was waiting for them.
As she drove away, deputies quickly attempted to stop her. The teen pulled over, but she subsequently drove away at a high rate of speed. She continued on at a high rate of speed, disregarding the speed limit, stop signs, and the patrol cars behind her. Eventually, she turned into a dead end where Green got out of the car and fled into the residential neighborhood on foot. The juvenile driver stopped and was taken into custody, which Peoples also fled on foot. Both Peoples and Green were located hiding in nearby neighborhoods authorities said.
