PHELAN – A man reported that his wife and 11-year-old stepdaughter were taken from his home at gunpoint on Sunday afternoon. At around 12:15 p.m. the man told authorities that they were at the home in the 7700 block of Del Rosa Road in Phelan when the suspect, who was identified as an ex-boyfriend to his wife came into the home and took the two out of the home by force.
Both the mother and child were put into a black mid-2000’s 4-door Toyota sedan with tinted windows. The reporting party said that the vehicle was last seen on Del Rosa. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter responded to the scene to attempt to locate the suspect who the reporting party believes may be heading to North Hollywood.
The suspect is described as a 36-year-old Hispanic man who was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black pants, a black backpack and wearing a black and red baseball-style cap. He was carrying a silver snub-nose revolver that the reporting party said he put on the driver’s side door. The California Highway Patrol in all surrounding areas was informed of the incident.

(Update 12:44 p.m.) The vehicle was located at 395 and Joshua Street. A deputy followed the suspect vehicle onto the 15 freeway south. The vehicle was determined to be a Toyota Avalon and the officer said that the man and woman appeared to be talking cordially from what he could see following.
(Update 12:57 p.m.) Felony traffic stop made at the 15 south just south of Cleghorn. Clearing the vehicle. No injuries reported, unknown if any arrests have been made. Information will be updated.
