RUNNING SPRINGS – A 34-year-old Running Springs woman was arrested for the stabbing murder of her boyfriend officials said.
On Friday, October 26, 2018, at around 10:00 p.m., fire officials responded to the 30000 block of Hunsacker Way in Running Springs for the report of a man in medical distress. When the arrived they located Richard Nelson, 33, of Running Springs suffering from at least one stab wound. He was rushed to Mountains Community Hospital and was subsequently airlifted to Riverside Community Hospital where he was rushed into surgery to repair the bodily damage. Although lifesaving measures were taken, Nelson died shortly after at the hospital.
Through investigation, homicide detectives determined that Janine Lee, who was Nelson’s girlfriend, was responsible for the stabbing that took the life of Nelson. Lee was arrested and booked into jail and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000. She is scheduled to appear at the San Bernardino Superior Court on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
