RANCHO CUCAMONGA – An arrest was made in connection with the theft of two 55 inch flat screen televisions at the Rancho Cucamonga Costco store. On Friday, February 24, 2017, at around 3:00 p.m. deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station Victoria Gardens Retail Theft team responded to the store located at 11800 Fourth Street.
When they arrived they learned the store employees witnessed two suspects steal two 55 inch LG flat screen televisions valued at over $2,400. The two left in a vehicle, that was captured on store surveillance along with a clear image of the license plate. A Deputy identified one of the suspects as 27-year-old Adam Evens, a convicted burglar from San Bernardino. Evens who is on felony probation was the primary suspect involved in the theft of the televisions. Two days later, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, Evens was detained during a traffic stop.
Authorities said that information gathered during the traffic stop provided Lopez the ability to author a search warrant for Evens’ residence.Leads found through the search warrant led to the recovery of both of the stolen televisions. Evens was arrested for felony commercial burglary and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center. He is being held on a no-bail probation hold.
