SAN JACINTO – A San Jacinto woman was arrested for the abuse of her children after a forensic exam proved “serious and extensive abuse” authorities said.
The incident was reported at 1:00 p.m. on August 9, 2017, when the San Jacinto Police received a call of possible child abuse occurring in the home. When they arrived they found two children a 4-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sibling. Abuse was suspected with the 4-year-old boy being the victim. Both children were removed from the home and were scheduled for a forensic exam.
The investigation revealed the Jasmine Lopez, 22, of San Jacinto physically assaulted the child as punishment. The forensic evidence was complete by August 22, 2017, and Lopez was subsequently arrested for attempted murder and felony child abuse. She was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility.
