REDLANDS – A registered sex offender who was out on California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) parole was arrested after attempting to meet with a decoy posing as a 15-year-old boy. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said that the 27-year-old Redlands man, identified as Kyle Freet was arrested on Friday, August 5, 2016, after a detective from the County Crimes Against Children Detail was using social media as an investigation tool.

Freet also happened to be using the same site and began chatting with the decoy, who was posing as a 15-year-old boy. The chats went on for around a week, during which time Freet was made aware of the decoys supposed age. Still, after being aware of the age of the boy/decoy Freet sent nude photos of himself to the boy/decoy, talked about various sex acts and arranged to meet at a Yucaipa home.

Last Friday,  the California State Parole Officers helped to locate Freet at a home on the 1300 block of Webster Street in the City of Redlands. After the conclusion of an interview by the Crimes Against Children Detail detectives, Freet was arrested for sending harmful matter to a minor and arranging to meet a minor for sexual acts.

Freet is being held at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail due to the parole violation. He is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on Thursday afternoon.
