HIGHLAND, Calif. – A shooting in the City of Highland left one dead on Friday.
At around 12:15 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 26351 E. Baseline Street for the report of an assault with a deadly weapon inside a home. When they arrived, they found Marty Palmer, 27, of Highland, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Palmer was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. The investigation is ongoing; no additional information is being released at this time. Updates will be issued as new information becomes available for release. The motive is not known at this time.
