PHELAN – A 65-year-old Phelan man died as a result of a crash on New Year’s Eve. At around 9:15 p.m. the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision at the Phelan and Wilson Ranch Road intersection.
When emergency medical personnel arrived they located a 47-year-old female, a 12-year-old female, and 65-year-old Edmond Joseph Pare Jr.
Pare was found unresponsive and medics at the scene administered CPR in an attempt to resuscitate him. He was transported to Desert Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room. The two females were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
