APPLE VALLEY – An Apple Valley man lost his life after a single-vehicle collision on Sunday morning. At around 6:40 a.m. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers and emergency medical personnel responded to a collision on Tussing Ranch Road, just east of Mockingbird Avenue.

When they arrived they located an overturned 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with an unrestrained driver, identified as David Felix, 49, of Apple Valley, who suffered traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP officials said that Felix was traveling eastbound on Tussing Ranch Road when for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the truck causing it to overturn landing off the roadway.

An area motorist discovered the overturned vehicle and reported the overturned vehicle. The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
