DEVORE – Motorists are reminded that their already slow Friday afternoon/evening commute on the 15 and 215 freeways will be additionally delayed today due to a music festival at the San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore.
From around 3:00 p.m. young music enthusiasts will be heading the Nocturnal Wonderland, formerly know as the Nocturnal Festival. The four-day event in the past has brought in over 50,000 attendees.
The event, much like the Electric Daisy Carnival, is a dance party with usually over 60 different artists performing on numerous stages. Music varies but includes trance, drum and bass, breakbeat, and house music.
This year will be the 21st year of the Nocturnal Wonderland with the very first being in 1995. The Nocturnal Wonderland will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. through 2:00 a.m. each day. Camping began on Thursday night. In preparation for this event additional law enforcement has been put in place, officials said.
“Prior to entering the camping area, participants were screened for security purposes,” Sheriff’s officials said. “The process for attendees included being searched, the examination of a valid identification, confirmation of tickets for the event, and a photograph. This process is designed to make the experience safer for the attendees. Uniformed law enforcement officers were at the event, along with K-9’s.”
The location is the San Manuel Amphitheater located at 2575 Glen Helen Parkway in Devore.
