HEMET, Calif. – A Hemet resident was in awe after witnessing an act of kindness on Monday morning.
Sergio Rodriguez posted to a Facebook group, Hemet Valley Incidents, sharing what he had just witnessed. Rodriguez was at America’s Tire located at 600 W. Florida Avenue in Hemet when a woman named Alex Wood and her young daughter arrived at the business for a flat tire repair on her Chevy Silverado. Upon inspection, it was learned that all four of her tires were in desperate need of replacement. Wood was stressed since she was unable to afford all new tires.
A man named Phil, who was there as a customer overheard the conversation and offered to buy all four tires for her. “I was speechless, I’ve never seen someone do something that big for a complete stranger,” said Alex Wood in a Hemet Valley Incidents comment. “My truck has been sliding around for weeks.” Everyone in the store including the employees were shocked by what they just witnessed. Rodriguez said that Wood thanked Phil several times before Phil told her to just pay it forward.
