BLOOMINGTON – Deputies from the Fontana Station were shot at when they responded to a man with a gun call on the 17000 block of San Bernardino Avenue in Bloomington on Thursday. At around 7:12 p.m. when deputies approached the suspect, he shot toward them and they returned fire striking him, officials said.
“The suspect was barricaded and uncooperative for a short time,” said Sheriff’s spokeswoman, Jodi Miller. Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga Police responded to assist with the situation.
The suspect, was taken into custody at around 7:47 p.m. and is receiving medical aid. At this time it is unclear why he shot at the deputies. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
