TWENTYNINE PALMS – A teen boy sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Twentynine Palms on Saturday night. At around 9:20 p.m. deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to Twentynine Palms Highway west of Utah Trail for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
Deputies arrived to find two people assisting the approximately 15-year-old boy who was lying on the side of the roadway. The boy was rushed to High Desert Medical Center in preparation to be airlifted to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs. The condition of the boy is unknown at this time. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and reported that she was traveling east on Twentynine Palms Highway when the pedestrian walked into the roadway.
