HIGHLAND – A 17-year-old girl crashed her vehicle when she became distracted by an electronic vaping device on Friday. The collision occurred at around 2:30 p.m. in the area of Greenspot and Alta Vista Roads. When deputies arrived they found the vehicle blocking westbound lanes on Greenspot Road as several stopped to help the driver.
Through investigation, including witness statements, deputies were able to determine that the girl was driving westbound on Greenspot road when she looked away from the road. “Her vehicle veered through a light pole and into a field. The vehicle circled back to Greenspot Road when it came to a stop,” Sheriff’s officials said in the news release.
The girl, who deputies believe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, sustained only minor injuries,
