WACO, TX. – Three Hesperia residents are facing 10 years to life in prison for their involvement in trafficking crystal methamphetamine. The trio were part of a group of fifteen people who were indicted earlier this week and arrested on Thursday.
Francisco Resendiz-Martinez, 25, Patricia Ferrer, 53, and Veronica Barraza Real, 40, all of Hesperia were named in the indictment and are facing ten years to life in prison if convicted. Resendiz-Martinez and Real are currently on bond of $100,000 and $50,000.
Waco, Texas residents Darris Kinita Thompson, 41, Sedric Barshea Thompson, 49, Megan Anaise Keel, 32, Christopher Derric Blount, 46, Darrel Wayne Moore, 50, Ulis Howard Alexander, 27, Chelsea Lane Early Graves, 30, Lamont Alexander Taylor, 41, Ruby Clara Williams, 55, Joe Angel Gayton, 27, Johnny Perez Jr., 38, and Johnny Casillas, 36.
The Department of Justice officials said that the transport of these drugs occurred since or before October 2016, with the supply coming from Hesperia, California and the distribution of the drugs being in Waco, Texas. Although the focus was initially on the crystal methamphetamine, authorities also seized 330 pounds of marijuana and around 1000 tabs of Xanax along with the 26 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
Eleven were arrested in the Waco area on Thursday and additional indictments were returned including those for four previously arrested individuals who were facing conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. One of the found indicted is Darris Thompson, who authorities are calling the “ringleader” of the drug trafficking operation.
The defendants will be facing sentences of anywhere from five years to life in prison. All but two of the defendants, who are released on bail, will remain in custody until hearings in a Waco courtroom next week.
