COLTON, Calif. – One woman and two men, all from San Bernardino were arrested for an armed robbery early Tuesday morning.
At around 7:32 a.m., Colton Police responded to a business located in the 400 block of North Mt. Vernon Avenue for the report of an armed robbery. The reporting party said that the suspect fired at least one round from a rifle before fleeing the area. When they arrived they were able to develop leads and locate the vehicle involved in the robbery.
Officers attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop. The pursuit went into the City of San Bernardino until the suspect vehicle became disabled. The driver, Rachel Salazar, 31, and the passenger, Christian Tapia, 23, were arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for Felony Evading and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
A second vehicle, also believed to be involved in the robbery was stopped by police. Edgar Chavez, 21, was arrested for armed robbery. It was also learned that Chavez was wanted for a Fontana armed robbery that occurred on July 20, 2019.
