COLTON, Ca. – A physical altercation between a man and his girlfriend became dangerous late last week when a family member attempted to intervene.
On Thursday, May 21, 2020, at around 10:44 p.m. officers from the Colton Police Department responded to a home in the 800 block of North Rancho Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived they learned that the suspect, Cruz Orozco was involved in the altercation with his girlfriend and when they family member stepped in, he was stabbed multiple times in his upper body, including his neck. He was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Cruz left the location before police arrived. Several days later on Sunday, May 24, 2020, detectives went to Cruz’ San Bernardino home in an attempt to make contact with him, Orozco quickly fled in a vehicle but returned home and surrendered. He was arrested for domestic violence and attempted murder.
