Three Teens Arrested for Barstow Burglary
BARSTOW – Three teens were arrested for burglarizing a Barstow home on Tuesday afternoon. At around 1:52 p.m. a residential burglary in progress was reported in the 900 block of East Virginia Way.
Police responded to the report that four black juveniles wearing black sweaters were running from the home carrying a television. Detectives arrived at the scene and set up a perimeter surrounding the location in an attempt to locate the juvenile suspects.
The detectives saw two male subjects that matched the description of the suspects. When they attempted to make contact with them, they ran. Detectives followed the two fleeing suspects, but were apprehended a short time later. The search for the remaining suspects continued and one was located in the 1100 block of Lillian Drive authorities said. The suspect saw the officers surrounding the home and attempted to flee, but officers apprehended him before he left the backyard.
A flat screen television and several pieces of jewelry were located in the area where the suspect was hiding. Additional pieces of jewelry were found when searching the three suspects. When officers went back to the home, they were able to verify that the burglary did in fact occur at the home. The owners were also able to provide officers with a list of the property stolen from their home. The owners said that a flat screen television, jewelry, and two PlayStation game consoles had been stolen during the burglary.
All of the stolen items were located and returned to the victims, including the two PlayStation game consoles, which were found in an alley near the home. The two 15-year-old boys and one 16 year old boy were arrested ad booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley, California for Residential Burglary.
