HESPERIA – A Victorville area transient was arrested for a shooting that occurred on Sunday morning. Authorities said that just before 3:00 a.m. they responded to the area of Bear Valley Road and Second Avenue reference the report of shots fired. When they arrived, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was unconscious at the time of arrival and was transported to a trauma center where he is now in stable condition.
The investigation revealed that John Mosby, 58, was a person of interest in the attempted murder of the victim, but he had fled the scene prior to deputy arrival. Mosby was located in the area of Main Street and Cataba Road in the City of Hesperia on Monday morning and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Attempted Murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday, July 6, 2017.
