PALM SPRINGS – Arrests have been made as a result of approximately 30 pool pump thefts in the Palm Springs area. The reports made, included both the pool pumps as well as other related equipment. In late-November, a witness noticed a possible suspect vehicle fleeing from the scene. Authorities said that the vehicle was located weeks later and they conducted surveillance.
Palm Springs Police Department investigators identified a home in the 17000 block of Louise Street in Palm Spring as a location of interest. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the Louise Street on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. Nine people were detained during the search.
Authorities located numerous pool pumps, control panels, control heads, and other pool related equipment. High-end bicycles, 10 grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun.
Two of the nine people were arrested and the investigation is ongoing. The two arrested were 45-year-old Luther Davis who was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition by a felon. The second arrested is 24-year-old Richard Marek who was arrested for providing false information to a police officer and felony warrants.
