JURUPA VALLEY – Two known gang associates were arrested for vehicle theft and other offenses after a Jurupa Valley traffic stop authorities said.
On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, the Region 7 Regional Gang Task Force stopped the vehicle near Granite Hill Driver and Pyrite Avenue. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Jensine Silva, 25, of Colton. The vehicle was reported stolen out of the City of Ontario. A motorist in the vehicle following was identified as Juan Francisco Arteaga, 24, of Ontario. The vehicle he was driving was also determined to be stolen out of the City of Pomona.
While searching Artega and the vehicle, authorities located a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia. Silva was arrested for Vehicle Theft and the Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. She was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Arteaga was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Vehicle Theft, Vehicle Theft with Prior Conviction, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance While Armed.
