BARSTOW, Calif. – Two Barstow men were arrested for a vehicle burglary at the Outlets at Barstow last week.
On Monday, January 21, 2019, at around 2:22 p.m. Barstow Police responded to a vehicle burglary that occurred at the Outlets at Barstow, located at 2796 Tanger Way. The victim reported that the vehicle window was smashed and a backpack containing electronics as well as other items was stolen from inside the vehicle. Evidence collected suggested that the same suspect(s) were possibly involved in other vehicle burglaries in the same area in the past month.
Through investigation, two suspects, Marin Alonzo, 38, and Ray Armijo, 47, were named as suspects. A search warrant was issued for Alonzo’s home in the 500 block of S. Muriel Drive. On Monday, January 28, 2019, the search warrant was executed and Alonzo was taken into custody. Two firearms, one stolen from Los Angeles and ammunition was located. Alonzo is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition.
Officers learned that Armiho was staying at a motel in the 100 block of W. Main Street. Officers responded to the motel, where they located Armijo who was in the possession of property reported stolen during multiple vehicle burglaries.
Both Alonzo and Armijo were booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Barstow. Alonzo was booked for PC 459 – Burglary, PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Weapon. Armijo was booked for PC 459 – Burglary, and PC 496(a) – Possession of Stolen Property.
