BARSTOW – Two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17-years-old were found trespassing on Cameron Elementary School property on Wednesday, July 19th authorities said.
At 8:23 p.m. a reporting party reported the black male juveniles on the school property located in the 800 block of Muriel Drive. The reporting party said that the subjects were wearing dark clothing and jumped the fence and were walking around on the school grounds. An officer arrived at the school and began looking for the juveniles reportedly on the school grounds. A second call came in while the officer searched indicating the juveniles were walking eastbound on Carston Street. “Officer Cardenas located the two juveniles and contacted them,” Barstow Police officials said. “As he spoke with the juveniles regarding the trespassing on school property he learned that one of the juveniles was on formal juvenile probation.”
The juvenile was searched and in his backpack, the officer located a .38 caliber revolver pistol, which the juveniles claimed possession of as they explained that they needed it for protection.The two were arrested and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley for Minor in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
