RIALTO – An unlicensed massage business was closed down and the owner of the business was arrested after the report of a sexual assault last week.
On Tuesday, March 2018, a woman reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by Jose S. Cuevas, 65, of Rialto at his home, which was also his place of business on the 6800 block of Park Avenue in an unincorporated area of Rialto. Detectives learned that Cuevas had his business, which he called Terapia Fisica Don Cuevas’, meaning Don Cuevas’ Physical Therapy, for six years.
The business, which he ran inside his home was where he and the victim met. The victim was inside the home during a massage appointment, when she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Cuevas. On Thursday, March 29, 2018, detectives made contact with Cuevas and conducted an interview. Cuevas was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for Sexual Penetration with a Foreign Object. Authorities said that Cuevas served mostly female clients who would go to his home for their massage appointments. They believe there may be other women who were victimized by Cuevas.
