APPLE VALLEY – An Apple Valley woman and a 2-year-old passenger sustained major injuries after a traffic collision on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at around 8:00 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the intersection of Central and Ottawa Roads for the report of a two-vehicle collision. When they arrived they found a gray 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck and a white 2005 PT Cruiser that had been involved in a collision. Inside the PT Cruiser, there was a 23-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl who were both suffering from major injuries.
Both the woman and child were airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment for their injuries. The two occupants inside the pickup truck were not injured as a result of the crash.
Through investigation, it was learned that the Chevy was driving north on Central Road and the PT Cruiser was driving west on Ottawa. The PT Cruiser failed to yield to the Chevy, causing the Chevy to broadside the PT Cruiser.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to call the Apple Valley Station at 760-240-7400 or those wishing to remain anonymous can contact WeTip at www.wetip.com or 800-782-7463.
