DESERT CENTER – One died and two were injured after a traffic collision Monday, November 21, 2016, traffic collision on the I-10 in Desert Center. At around 9:45 a.m. a 73-year-old Arizona man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze westbound on the 10 freeway west of Frontage Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle drifted off the left side of the road, down a dirt and rock embankment and overturned onto its left side. The vehicle sustained major damage.
A 94-year-old female passenger, also from Arizona, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver, and his 65-year-old female passenger, an Arizona resident were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The collision remains under investigation.
