HESPERIA – A 21-year-old Oak Hills man lost his life in a collision on Monday morning. Just after 9:00 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the vehicle versus motorcycle collision near Locust Avenue and Eucalyptus Street in the City of Hesperia. When they arrived they found Brian Del Real lying in the roadway next to his motorcycle.
Paul Mendoza, 87, of Victorville pulled over at the northwest corner of the intersection. Authorities said that Del Real was traveling northbound on Locust Avenue and Mendoza was traveling west on Eucalyptus Street. According to the investigation, Del Real failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the 4-way stop and collided with Mr. Mendoza’s Kia.
Medics attempted to preserve Del Real’s life as they rushed him to the hospital. Del Real was later pronounced dead. Mendoza also suffered injuries and was transported to a trauma center in stable condition. It is unclear if alcohol, drugs, or speed were contributing factors to this collision.
