SAN BERNARDINO – Over 17 years after a murder, that killed 32-year-old Timothy Morris an arrest has been made. On March 3, 2000, deputies responded to the call reporting that a body was found on the side of the road near Lytle Creek. When deputies arrived they located the body of Timothy Morris.
The cause of death for Morris was determined to be gunshot wounds. John Cory Broyles was originally identified as a possible suspect, but due to insufficient evidence, they were unable to prosecute him in 2000. The Cold Case Team re-investigated the case which led Illinois for the October 18, 2017, arrest of Broyles who is also known as John McKinney. On November 15, 2017, John was extradited to San Bernardino County and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
