Adelanto Man Airlifted Following Shooting Near the Roadway Express Motel

ADELANTO – Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one 44-year-old Adelanto man seriously injured early on Thursday.

At around 12:30 a.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to the report of a shooting in the area of the  Roadway Express Motel, located in the 11600 block of Lawson Avenue in the City of Adelanto. The reporting party told dispatchers that he had heard gunshots so he walked outside of his hotel room. When he looked out he saw the victim jumping the fence into the parking lot of the motel. He stated that the victim was bleeding from his head. When deputies arrived they learned that the male victim had been shot in the head. The victim was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

During the investigation, the victim’s car was located across the street from the motel with bullet holes and a broken windshield. The suspect and motive remain unknown at this time.
