ADELANTO, Ca. – A 31-year-old Adelanto man is behind bars after shooting at neighbors during an altercation on Sunday evening.
Authorities said that Jacob Chapa was involved in a fight with his neighbors in the 11200 block of Westbrook Drive in the City of Adelanto at around 5:40 p.m. Chapa pulled out a gun and shot 15 rounds in their direction as the victims ducked for cover. He fled in a Chevrolet Traverse, but was located a short time later by deputies who attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Chapa failed to stop and the deputies followed until he pulled into a cul-de-sac and was taken into custody.
No was injured as a result of the shooting. Jacob Chapa, who is currently on probation, was booked at High Desert Detention Center where he is currently being held without bail on a probation violation.
